lesley doherty - chief executive

Lesley Doherty - Chief Executive

Lesley joined the NHS in 1976 a qualified nurse and midwife with varied clinical and operational experience across health care provision, including regional and national roles. She joined Bolton in 2003 as Director of Nursing, moving to include the day to day management of the Trust in 2005. In October 2010 she was appointed Chief Executive.

gary raphael - director of finance, procurement and information

Gary Raphael - Director of Finance, Procurement & Information

Gary is a qualified Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) accountant and has held a number of senior finance posts in both London and the North West. Gary joined the Trust in 2009.

beverley andrew - director of cCorporate services

Beverley Andrew - Director of Assurance and Engagement

As Director of Assurance and Engagement Beverley is responsible for corporate governance including risk management, patient experience & quality, estates strategy, communications & emergency planning. Beverley started her career in Bolton in 1978.

ann schenk - director of service development

Ann Schenk - Director of Strategy and Improvement

As Director of Strategy and Improvement, Ann is responsible for strategic and business planning, service improvement through the development of the Bolton Improving Care System (BICS), marketing/communications and Information Technology. She has worked in a variety of NHS planning and business management posts since 1979.

jackie bene - medical director

Jackie Bene - Medical Director

Jackie's primary responsibilities are safety and quality improvement and ensuring the good medical practice of all doctors working in the Trust. Jackie was appointed Medical Director in 2008 having been a Consultant in Elderly Medicine at the Trust since 1998.

dee sissons - director of patient safety and experience/chief nurse

Dee Sissons - Director of Patient Safety and Experience/Chief Nurse

Dee is responsible for maintaining high standards in the care of all patients, leading in ensuring their comfort and safety. Dee was appointed in March 2011 having previously been Director of Nursing and Quality at NHS Nottingham City.

nicky ingham - director of workforce and organistaion development

Nicky Ingham - Director of Workforce & Organisation Development

Nicky has been Director of Workforce and Organisational Development at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust since December 2005. She has worked within HR in the NHS in a variety of roles and was the Director of HR and OD at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital prior to taking up her post at Bolton. Nicky is a champion for staff engagement and partnership and believes strongly in the links between staff satisfaction and good patient experience.

andrew cogan - director of operations

Andrew Cogan - Director of Operations

Andrew is responsible for the day to day running of the Trust's operational services. Andrew has worked for a number of acute hospitals in Greater Manchester and Merseyside since 1989 and joined the Trust in 2005 initially as Divisional Manager for Diagnostics & Therapies and then as Divisional Manager for Surgery. Andrew commenced in his current role in January 2011.

Cliff Morris - Chairman

A former Bolton Mayor, Cliff is Leader of the ruling Labour Group on Bolton Council and the Chair of Social Services. Cliff was appointed Chairman in 2003.

arthur rowlinson - non-executive director

Arthur Rawlinson - Non-Executive Director

Arthur's background is in Information Technology, retiring as UK General Manager for Data Centres within Fujitsu Services in 2002. He is a member of the Audit, Finance, IT and Clinical Governance Committees and Chair of the Hospital's Charitable Trust Fund. Arthur joined the Trust in 2005.

margaret blenkinsop - non-executive director

Margaret Blenkinsop - Non-Executive Director

Margaret career was spent in education, retiring as a Director of Children's Services in 2006. She serves the Board as Vice-Chair and is the Non-executive Director lead for Safeguarding. Margaret, also Chair of Bolton's Octagon Theatre, joined the Trust in 2005.

carol davies - non-executive director

Carol Davies - Non-Executive Director

Carol chairs the Trust's Audit Committee. She is currently Director of Finance and Resources at Mount St Joseph Business and Enterprise College. She has also held senior finance positions in a number of other organisations, including Bolton Council and Trafford Health Authority. She is a qualified accountant with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

dr ebrahim adia - non-executive director

Dr Ebrahim Adia - Non-Executive Director

Dr Ebrahim Adia is a Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and is a former joint Vice-Chair of NHS Bolton. He is a member of the Trust’s Audit Committee. He joined the Trust in 2010.

Mark Harrison - Non-Executive Director

Mark Harrison - Non-Executive Director

Mark Harrison, Controller of Production for BBC North, was been appointed as a Non Executive Director with effect from April 1st 2012. He has extensive Board level experience and has delivered large scale change, technology and efficiency programmes, negotiated and managed major contracts and partnerships, overseen strategic planning and delivery, and shaped and delivered output services to the public.
