Visits to the Hospital:
We are delighted to share our experiences relating to our lean journey here at Bolton and are pleased to invite visitors to our monthly improvement event out-briefs, held at the Royal Bolton Hospital site. This will be an opportunity to hear from the teams working in week as they present back their achievements and future plans. Visitors will also receive background information as to how the Trust first became involved in using lean methodology, past and current areas of focus and a question and answer session with Executive Directors, Improvement Team Leads, and members of the BICS Team.
Please note, the out-brief is an opportunity to share our experiences, it is not a training event. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate bespoke visits to the Trust.
The usual agenda is 90 minutes introductory presentation detailing the Bolton journey to date and why we embarked on the journey, followed by the opportunity to hear from 4 or so teams who have recently been developing solutions to problems, Cold buffet lunch finishing with a Q&A session with a number of executives, medics [subject to clinical commitments] and the improvement team, the day commences at 10.00am and concludes at approx 2.00pm. Please note, out of respect for our patients this visit does not include a tour (Gemba Walk).
Arrangements for hosting visits carry an overhead and we therefore make a charge for attendance. The cost of attending an event out-brief is £200 per person (£150 per person for groups of 4 or more).
Concessions are available for students, with relevant proof of study at £100 per person.
We are currently a partnership organisation with Simpler Consulting PLC, we are happy to except delegates from other management Consultancy organisations. However, the price is £200 per person (no concessions available).

On average we run 4 events per event week, although smaller be-spoke events may take place outside the above event weeks.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
The Royal Bolton Hospital is easily accessible by car from the M61 motorway. Exit at junction 4 and then proceed up a slight incline to Plodder Lane. Once on Plodder lane, continue straight ahead, and then turn left at the first set of traffic lights to the entrance of the Royal Bolton Hospital. This will take you onto Redgate way which is the main road through the hospital.
