Dr Keatley Adams retires
Well known Bolton Consultant Physician Dr Keatley Adams has retired after 25 years.
Originally from Northern Ireland, Dr Keatley R H Adams, Consultant Physician in Rheumatology and Osteoporosis, trained at the Medical School, Trinity College, Dublin University. He worked as a junior doctor in Ireland and Hull and held several posts on The Wirral and in Liverpool before coming to Bolton as a consultant in Elderly Medicine in 1985, also being accredited as a specialist in General Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. During his time in Bolton he was instrumental in setting up the Bolton Stroke Unit and the Bolton Rheumatology Service.
His special interests include osteoporosis, fibromyalgia (for which he is known nationally), Paget's disease and research.
He was secretary for the Bolton BMA division, Chairman of the Bolton Local Negotiating Committee and more recently President of the Bolton Medical Society.
He is married to Mary, a research pharmacist and has four children all of whom are qualified medical doctors.
Dr Adams is keen to learn to play the piano and guitar in his retirement. He is also planning to travel.
