Urology
The Urology Department, in the A block of the hospital, is a dedicated unit which has its own operating theatre and an area for clinics and out-patient diagnostics. Adjacent to the operating theatre, is a smaller one for minor operations and flexible cystoscopy. The operating suite has a ward area containing 4 day care beds.
In the clinic area are 3 clinical treatment rooms and a waiting area. Out-patient diagnostics such as urodynamics, TRUS guided prostate biopsies, flow-rate clinics are held in the Urology department. Some secretarial and clerical offices are presently contained within the department. This close-working facilitates the continuity of the patients’ journey and the arrangements for future appointments.
New patient and follow up clinics are held in the General Out-patient Department in G block of the hospital.
Urology Ward
In-patient urology beds are located on F4, a ward shared with ENT. The ward is within F (Surgical) block. Post-operatively, major surgical cases may spend an initial recovery period onto the High Dependency Unit.
